On a beautiful sunny day Conference Connections once again supported the Lloyds TSB UK Retail Banking Charity Golf Day, held in aid of Barnardo's, at St. Pierre Golf Club.
CC's John King and Trevor Kenvin put the promotional banners around the course, set up the AV equipment/staging and the halfway house "refreshment" gazebo, with Alison Sherman and her logistics team making sure that none of the golfers escaped a special Conference Connections Pimms No. 1 half way through their round of golf.
Cameraman Steve Ross spent most of the day on Hole 6 filming the efforts of the golfers to "beat the pro" at closest to the pin, Barry Wilkinson spent the afternoon editing and then in the evening all the golfers were able to see how good (or not) their swings looked on the plasma screens set up in the players' bar.
John Dalgarno and Ali Buncher represented Conference Connections on the golf course, along with Bill Morgan and Mark Phillips. Unfortunately, they didn't come in the prizes but managed a respectable score.
There was a dinner in the evening with an auction and raffle compered by Alan Brazil from TalkSport. The whole event raised a fantastic £19,000 for Barnardo's, the Lloyds TSB charity of the year. Conference Connections donated a framed Stars 2007 crew shirt, beautifully signed by The Sugababes and McFly, together with a London Marriott Theatre Break and these auction items alone raised over £600.
